Weapon of Mass Destruction

This week was the week of violent sports. (The real kind, Ian. Ha!) On wednesday I went to kickboxing (and got chatted up some random guy but that's another story) and then went to karate after school. Now I am the proud owner of an orange belt! And also now I'm expected to work even harder. But I didn't collapse at karate class! Bonus.

I think I'm finally more or less caught up from last week's brief stint as a slacker. The next two weeks will be interesting; I have 2 midterms and a paper due the week after Thanksgiving, and I'll be visiting Colleen for that. But in the meantime, tonight I'm hanging out with friends and tomorrow night I'm scheduled to get drunk in res with Bev and Dan, freshman-style. No, really, homework will be done this weekend, I promise. IF YOU DOUBT ME I'LL KICK YO ASS!

Consumerism is Calling

Ok I'm back from my brief hiatus, and with some questions. Who is pornoflick? Someone suggested Poorna, which to me seems out of character but at the same time highly amusing.

How long will it take me to read the Communist Manifesto? Surely I will accomplish that tomorrow afternoon, along with my 40-page chapter on the history of capitalism, and my anthro articles for last week. Yay falling behind! I feel so very third-year.

Ok, well that was technically only 2 questions, but I do have a lot of work to do. So. Consumerism is calling!

Quecumque Vera

Does anyone know what that means?

So, I guess it's time for the bi-annual start of semester review. Not sure why I'm bothering but here it is, nonetheless.

Soc 102: Social Problems. Way too much work for a first year course. Weekly assignements but the final exam is on the last day of classes. Weird, no?

Soc 210: Social Statistics. Enough said.

Soc 212: Modern Social Theory. Sounds kinda boring, but a. the prof is hot and b. we get to read Marx's Communist Manifesto. Sweet.

Soc 225: Criminology. Seems cool. Big class. Didn't actually talk about anything other than the syllabus.

Anthro 322: Big scary 3rd year course. Take home final. Sweet.

Well, that was boring. Applaud my feeble efforts to make the first 2 days of school sound like fun.

The Truth Is

The truth is it doesn't get easier with time. That's a fucking lie. The truth is I'm not ok, and I don't know if I ever will be again. There's only so much a person can take before they've had enough. What I wouldn't give to have them all back again. And he has no idea.
