Be Nice to Me or I'll Infect You

Yeah so you know how some days you just feel blah, like things aren't working out? Today is like that. I think I'm coming down with something, which I totally can't handle right now because I have a midterm in a week. Holy crap, my midterm is in a week! Ugh.
So cuz I'm feeling under the weather I don't feel like going out tonight, but I really don't feel like staying in either because my dad seems to have caught bubonic plague. It sounds like he's dying. And I'm horrible for saying this but I really don't want to be around him because now I'm going to get sick and have to put everything important, like studying and homework and finishing (read: starting) my room before Colleen's family gets here in like a week. And I don't know when the frig Colleen's plane is coming in and I'm supposed to get graded for karate that night and also supposed to party it up with 2 other friends whose birthdays are that weekend and OH MAKE THE MADNESS STOP.

Post-It Note

So. Eleanor, the girl I randomly sat next to on the first day of class in Italian is in my badminton course. If that's not an insane coincidence I don't know what is.
There are hardly any stores in Sherwood Park that carry decent duvet covers. I mean, honestly. I found one that I was very enthralled with but it was the wrong size. Go figure. But at least this means I now have an excuse to visit Ikea. Like I need one.
Some dude from the Gateway totally wrote the article I was gonna write. There goes my one good idea. But at least someone is standing up the rights of Arts students.
Well, that's my sad life right now. I'd better go finish up my essay now. It's gonna eat me if I don't eat it first.

It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World

Whew! Is it just me, or is it getting busier and busier around here? It's downright insane. So Brian's FINALY moving out. He found a 2-bedroom appartment to share with his 2 roommates. Don't ask me how that's going to work. But anyway, now I get to redo his old room, which is long overdo (think spaceship wallpaper) and move in there. Awesome.
So my parents' trip to Italy is officially off, for the time being. The people from Houston my dad was supposed to meet up with are sort of busy being evacuated from their city before the hurricane eats them. So you can see wh that's less than plausible for them to be worrying about business at a time like this. So Two-Week Party '05 has been postponed until further notice.
Besides all that madness, my everyday life is getting a wee bit hectic too. Still trying to find time for karate 2 times a week and Gateway meetings once a week, and then today I found out that I got off the waiting list for my beloved badminton class and will now have to squeeze that in on Mondays. Oh, and you know, like, homework and stuff goes in there somewhere too. I'd probably get more of that done if those couches in SUB, and Adam, weren't so gosh darn comfy. And tomorrow I'm supposed to meet up with like 6 people for badminton at school after my seminar...Oh, the madness never ends. But I love it.
But alas, classics calls. And anthro, soc, and art history. And prolly a little Italian on the side. Oggi la studentessa studia in casa.

Awesome Possum

WOW, MAN. Last night was unbelievably rockingly cool. It was soooo sweet! I am, like, such a teenage girl! OMG!!!
But seriously folks. You cannot underestimate the fun that can be had while bowling with 16 people. I mean, holy crap. It was insane. Not only that but it was like, Clover Bar Reunion '05. We had Andrew Steadman and Erin Zuke and Jenna Rogers and it was just pure madness. Two people even got turkeys (three strikes in a row). Altho don't mention it to Adam, or he will rant about how they were his turkeys and they were stolen from him. Gobble, gobble, gobble!
I am a maniac of epic proportions.
So after that we went to Boston Pizza's and discovered Al-Kareem from CLover Hole at the table beside us, along with Eleanor from my Italian class. How random is that? Awesomely random.
So the joy from that outing has carried me nicely into today. There's already talk of plans for another Crazy Madness Night next weekend. Oh joy! Oh rapture!
What does rapture mean?

Big Fancy Post

Hahahah, Willis, you make me laugh. Actually most of you make me laugh, so I shall post for you good little children.
Well, life's been pretty insanely busy of late but in a good, "I'm-not-dying-of-stress" kind of way. I'm officially behind in several classes for textbook readings, but the profs don't check that so yay, I'm winning. Most of my readings aren't too bad anyway; they're things I'm actually interested in, like ancient Egypt. Tho my reading for the anthro seminar could really not be more retarded. Why do big fancy people who write big fancy books feel the need to use big fancy words? Just say it in plain English, already. Bastards.
I inadvertently called my female Italian prof a man today. Maybe not so much with the good. She's pretty cool tho. I'm hoping she'll let it slide. Or maybe just my marks will slide...whatever.
I may be ready for the next belt level in karate now. Yay me!
Bev is going to photograph me doing questionable acts tomorrow at school. And by questionable acts, I of course mean jumping out of trees and other such things. What did you think I meant?

Sophmore Updates

So! 2 days in and what have we learned? Let's recap, shall we?
1. Italian will be cool because my prof is Russian or something equally perplexing. Also the workbook has crossword puzzles in it. Molto lieta! Unfortunately we have to do oral work in a creepy, ancient lab.
2. Anthro looks undecided so far. The prof could be either really boring or really interesting, depending on what he's rambling on about. But The Laura's in my class, so hurrah for that!
3. Art History was kinda cool when we actually started looking at pictures. How can profs actually spend more than 10 minutes going over a syllabus? We can read, you know. And the textbook package is simply enormous. Grumble. They are gouging us.
4. Classics 110 aka ancient history looks pretty cool, you know, for dealing with old dead people. Apparently Sabira's sister is in my class. Who knew? And the prof knows how to make jokes! Score.
5. Soc is perfectly awesome. I love the prof, Colleen's friend Heather is in my class, and it actually looks interesting. Booyah!
Other than all that, I still have my seminar in anthro to go to. Less than looking forward to that. But at least that's all I have to worry about on Fridays. Besides BEER GARDENS TOMORROW!! Aww yeah. Come look for me there; I'll be the one passed out in Quad.
Buonasera!

Scars Remind Us the Past is Real

One. We've come full circle. We've been through all the birthdays and anniversaries and other wretched special occasions and still we're here. It's still all wrong. They should be here with us. But they're not, and we have to live their lives for them.
On Saturday I was supposed to go to the Franklins' with the other families for dinner but I couldn't be around here that day. It's asking too much. I spent the day with wonderful Adam and his wonderful family at his cousin's wedding and his aunt and uncle's cabin. I went waterskiing again and played badminton and had a bonfire and saw the stars and lived. How is that possible? I don't know.
I do know that the only reason I'm still functioning is because of Adam. Without him I would be lost. He makes me breathe again.
Stef, Amanda, and Luke taught me to love with all my heart. It hurts but it's worth it.
