Let's all reach into my brain and stir things up, shall we?

Emancipation Proclamation

YOU GUYS!!!!! I'M DONE YEAR ONE!!!!! Ohhhh man. Ok so technically I was done on Wednesday, but I wanted to savour my first day of freedom yesterday by....doing laundry and cleaning my room!!!!! Oh I am incredibly cool. Actually the cleaning of the room part sort of deteriorated into Trying-On-Old-Dresses-And-Grad-Gowns Fest '05. But I really did get quite a lot accomplished.
So I guess today is my actual day of relaxation. I plan to scrapbook it up, do my nails and maybe go out later. It is so nice not to have to spend all my time studying. Not like I was, even when I had exams. But ANYWAY. I think this whole "having free time" thing is going to get kinda boring after a while, so I applied for 3 more jobs. They are at Michael's, Chatter's salon (as a receptionist, not a hair stylist. You don't put scissors in my hand and expect me to cut people's hair with them. That's just scary.), and another one at the Volunteer Centre. Which actually I like the sound of better than the one I had the interview for. So go me.
I'm also entertaining the idea of randomly volunteering somewhere. My resume needs padding.
So that's my story of the day. If you've finished your exams, I rejoice with you. If not, I wish you good luck.

Wild Flowers

The first camping trip of the season has officially been undertaken! OK, so basically it was for one night, but it had all the fixin's of a camping trip: incredibly dirty dogs, out houses, cold nights, and (horror upon horrors) no makeup. It was pretty productive actually, cuz I managed to finish all my readings for EAS and continue to procrastinate for English. Also I built a damn fine fire and the marshmallows turned out just perfect. Ok, ok, so dad helped instruct me in the proper building of a fire, but I lit it all by myself with one match. One match, you guys! My new greatest achievement. But not really.
This morning we went for a walk down the "path" (read: deer-dropping-ridden swamp)and my mother answered the call of the muskrats. Or something like that. But seriously, the came up pretty close to the shore. Being all muskrat-y. Awww.
So I've survived that. The trip, I mean. And in all honesty, THAT is my new greatest achievement.

We All Need Somebody To Lean On

OK, so what's the dealio? Things going good. Didn't get that job but not too broken up about it. Might apply at Michael's and Curves, and maybe some other places if they turn up. I know that Students For Hire opens in May!
Wrote History and Anthro finals today and showed them a good time. Hahahaha I've been corrupted. But anyway, history really couldn't have gone much better, and I was able to answer all the long answer questions in anthro half decently. But more interestingly, I met up with Tas and Becca, whom I hadn't seen in about forever and we had an awesomely awesome "study session." Which was really more like girl talk session, which I really needed cuz I was pretty much spent after history. And as it turns out, I didn't need to study much more for anthro anyway! So now it's 2 down, 3 to go. Classics is tomorrow and I should probably go start studying for that now. But it's so nice outside...

My Destiny

What Classic Movie Are You?
personality tests by similarminds.com

Well, to this I must say hahahahahah. But Indiana Jones is pretty cool. Does this mean I'm destined for anthropology?

Intergalactic Missiles, Probably

My new racket is so incredibly thrilling I might just have a nervy spaz. It made me play FABULOUSLY, dahlings. Badminton should be made the national sport.
I had my interview this morn and it was thoroughly mediocre. I'm glad I brought my portfolio tho cuz they seemed to like it. Apparently I look better on paper than I do in real life! Success.
English is now DONE FOREVERMORE and I say good riddance. Although I will miss my twice weekly conveyances (is that a word?) with that Bev kid, I will most certainly NOT miss Prof Boring droning on and on and on about bored rich people who have affairs. Honestly, is this what we're paying tuition for? So it would seem.
So anyway, back to my point. I have no classes tomorrow and therefore will be studying for most(ish) of the day. And no early class on Friday! Sleeping in officially rocks.

And That Deserves a WOOT

Hello, not-so-loyal readers! I am here today to tell you that the world is a good place after all. What's that, you say? Optimisim? Yes, dear friends, it is true! Just look at the goodness that has been occuring of late:
-Mam got a new job, which pays like 10$/hour better than her last one. And she reaaaaallly wanted this one. My parents gave me wine to celebrate. I couldn't drink it, tho, because I have decided to become a teetotaller. But more on that later.
-I scored an interview at the students for hire place, which is awesome because I'd sort of given up hope. The interview is on Wednesday morning, which was less than good because that means missing history, but lo and behold, Prof Foreign Name has cancelled the rest of our classes. Which also means sleeping in next Monday and Friday. And that deserves a WOOT.
-I bought a new badminton racket and it is clearly the bomb. It's blue and shiny and makes a cool whooshing noise! Hahahah. Sabi and I played today and she won the first game and I won the second, but they were both awesomely close. Alas, tho, that shall be our last game of the season.
-Buuuuuuuttt...my badminton course has now started, and it is also quite fabulous. I had almost talked John into signing up for it but it was full, alas. More on that later. All is well anyway because there is a mess of people there who have taken other courses with me before, and also I'm not the worst player. Which sounds mean but it's not actually; I'm just glad folk won't be all, "oh, she hit it out AGAIN."
-Yesterday I wore a tank top to school. A TANK TOP. It was just that warm. And there was much rejoicing. However, I have noticed how exceedingly disgustingly ugly Edmonton is in spring. Sickness. But enough of that! We speak only of joy here.
-My application into arts is still pending, but I'm all registered for next year. It will be full of anthro, soc, Italian (Attenta non che ti pizzicano!), econ, art history and classics. Unfortunately I have realized that I have not escaped labs as was previously believed. But at least they're anthro labs, and likely won't have stupid Buchner funnels for the breaking and hot plates for the burning of my flesh, which are ourtageously outdated and unsafe in the first place. Hot plates, I mean. Not my flesh. Why would you even think that? Weirdo.
So in conclusion, the Gateway this Thursday was awesome. And so, more or less, is my life right now.

Well. Sorry for the lack of postage lately but I have been consumed by a series of life-threatening (ish) illnesses. I stayed home from class on Thursday because it was only 8 o'clock English and there was no freakin' way I was going to drag myself out of bed for that. So lately there has been a lot of reading, movie watching, and sleeping going on. Although since I've started taking so many naps it's much harder to get to sleep at night. Less than desirable.
For the weekend my folks have gone down to Calgary to join the folks of Colleen, leaving me with the Brother. He actually asked me if I needed anything today. There may be hope for that boy yet. But not likely, as I am the one making supper.
Well, it pains my eyes to type so I must away. Also my lung wants to be coughed up. How's THAT for pleasant imagery? Hahah. Ok, I'll stop now. I will only say that Bev is slowly taking over my guestbook, and I never see Tas anymore. That is all.
